Hernando fourth-grader speaks out against new FSA testing

BROOKSVILLE —

A Brooksville Elementary student isn’t happy with the new statewide testing in schools, and she’s making her opinion known.

Sydney Smoot, 9, spoke Tuesday in front of the Hernando County School Board. She told school leaders that she’s not happy with the new Florida Standards Assessments.

“I do not feel that all this FSA testing is accurate to tell how successful I am,” she said in her speech.

The fourth-grader says the testing causes way too much anxiety for students.

“I just don’t think it’s fair because one test defines you as either a success or failure,” Sydney said.

She also says she had to sign a form telling her not to talk about the testing with her parents. She felt the need to speak up. (Click to continue reading)

In A Fury of Pure Hatred

burned buildingScreams pierce the night, as sirens wail against the blasts that light up the darkness in a fury of pure hatred.  Smoke smothers the air.  People seek to flee, running in desperation, but with no destination, except away… away from the blasts and the stench of burning flesh.

How long?  How long has there been warning unheeded?  Warning mocked as mere delusions of some?  How long has the laughter rolled from the lips of the all-knowing and all-enlightened ones?  Does it now matter?

Hearts pumping wildly as sweat flows freely.  Blasts closer and closer.  Breathing loud and labored against the sounds of people stampeding in blind flight.  Away.  Away from the nightmare and the murder surrounding and encircling.  The nightmare devouring hope, with lungs fighting frantically for the next breath.  Just one more breath.  The breath that doesn’t come.  The awareness of suffocation.

The terror.  The tears.  The prayers.

Suffocating.  Falling.  Numbness.  Nothingness.

A silence that no one hears.

‘This Is Wrong!’ Megyn Takes on Richard Fowler Over Reid’s Romney Tax Claim

‘This Is Wrong!’ Megyn Takes on Richard Fowler Over Reid’s Romney Tax Claim

~*~

“I just think it’s politics at its finest,” Fowler said, arguing that it’s the job of politicians to evade the truth.

~*~

Unbelievable!

They believed Obama’s truth but not Romney’s truth?

Excuse me, Mr. Fowler!  A lie is not someone’s truth.

It is a lie!

It remains a lie no matter how many times someone claims it to be the truth.

~*~

Dear Fellow Citizens:

Do YOU believe that “lying” is politics at its finest?

Do you believe the best liar should win?

What do you non-truthers and non-truther supporters have against the truth?

truth liesIs lying supposed to be the new fad?  One would think so with how so many are playing loose with the truth at a minimum and outright-blatantly lying at the not-so-minimum.  Personally, I’m tired of all this lying and want to know what the non-truthers have against the truth?  I mean, if your position and your facts and your ideas are so great — shouldn’t you be able to sell them with truthful presentation and defense?

I don’t know about anyone else, except my closet friends, but I don’t like or trust non-truthers.  No one can or should trust them.  After all, if they will non-truth about one thing or person to get their way — they will be prone to non-truth about anything and anyone to get their way next time, too.

Once upon a time, I was intimidated and threatened in an effort to get me to lie about another person.  I refused, but I also said something very true that I hope they remember to this day.  “If I will lie for you now, what makes you think I won’t lie about you later for someone else?”

People, who will lie about others, can’t be trusted.

People, who insinuate non-truths about others or things, likewise cannot be trusted.

People, who lie about polls or say false things to get elected or to get what they want passed — can’t be trusted either.

It’s all the same.  It’s all wrong.

It’s cheating to win and then bragging about the win won unfairly, as though there was reason for praise.

You supporters of the non-truths are no better than the outright liar.  If you didn’t support and excuse and look the other way, the non-truthers wouldn’t be able to pull off all these wrongful wins they are racking up.  But then… today… you seem to see it as a win for your side and it’s kewl stuff to win however your side has to win, right?

Non-truthers aren’t the most loyal kids on the block.  Watch out for when you get in the way or become useless to them or you might find yourself at the other end of their non-truth.  Might not seem so righteous or rightful then, but who will care anymore than you cared for what was happening to those before you?

What do you non-truthers and non-truther supporters have against the truth?  Never mind, I think the rest of us know that answer.  The truth would cost you the game and you would no longer enjoy wrongful wins.  After all, if your position and your facts and your ideas are so great — shouldn’t you be able to sell them with truthful presentation and defense?  Well, shouldn’t you?

The Right Thing to Do!… The Right Thing to Do!… The Right Thing to Do!

Give meI am so sick of hearing, “It’s the right thing to do!”… that I could spit nails and talk to the wall!  The only problem is I’d have to wait in line, because the wall’s pretty packed right now with wall-talkers.

Where do these people get the idea that all their ideas are so ideal and you are just a bad person for not going along?  You would if you were a good person, you know, because it’s the right thing to do.  Nooooo!  No, it’s not always the right thing to do.  Sometimes it would be the biggest and dumbest thing in the world to do.  Sometimes it is simply dumb, but that’s good enough for not wanting to do it.

Women need YOU to pay for their birth control pills because that is the right thing to do.  How’s that?  Women can get birth control for little or nothing at Planned Parenthood, so somebody else is already paying for them.  It’s probably YOU, but at least you don’t know it or remember that tax dollar going into PP’s greedy little pockets.  But if a woman can’t get some free pills, she can’t wait for sex, until she does?

Sex.  Sex.  Sex.

Sex on television.  Sex in commercials.  Sex down the street and up the street and even in the park.  And we aren’t even in Pleasureville where their hair is all blown back to announce to the world what they have been up to.  Geez has any of the desperate for sex crowd ever heard about reading a book every now and then?

Don’t get me wrong…

Sex can be a good thing.  It brings new life.  You know, those adorable little bundles with the tiny little features and those little cries that wake us throughout the night… and the day… and whenever we just get to sleep.  But for sex to be the center of the universe and attached to all things at all times… well… that’s a little… a little… shall we say — sick?

Sex isn’t everything.  It’s simply a small part of the big picture.  It isn’t meant to be people’s purpose in life, though I’ve met a few people who would differ with me on that thought.  Nevertheless, if someone is going into actual withdrawals, because he or she has to wait a few days to get a refill on the birth control pills because YOU didn’t pay for them to be had from somewhere other than the free or low cost place — that someone ought to be asking self what’s up with that.  How do they figure you are responsible for making their sex possible?  Oh, I know… ’cause… It’s the right thing to do.”

The right thing to do is to get back to thinking normal.   Normal meaning realization that there is a world out there that doesn’t center around each of us, immediate gratification is not an entitlement, nor are we entitled to avoid the consequences for our actions and lying is not supposed to be in a politician’s job description.

Me… me… me… is way out of style, but some elites seem to be clinging to the old attitude and trying to groom the younger generations to support and be apart of their whiny little, “You must do what I want because… It’s the right thing to do.”

I want.  I want.  I want.

Me.  Me.  Me.

Give me.  Give me.  Give me.

Tantrum.  Tantrum.  Tantrum.

Stomp a foot.  Stomp a foot.  Stomp another foot.

Lie.  Lie.  Lie.

I get.  I get.  I get.

You pay.  You pay.  You pay.

Know why?… this person might ask?  “Because it’s the right thing to do.”  And this person will probably be thinking on in that crazy little way of thinking, “… and I want my way at all costs because what I want is all that matters.  And because it is all that matters — It’s the right thing to do!”

Oh, I hate that saying.  Is there a space for me at the wall yet?

Today’s Logic Moment – 10/17/13

The Question People in DC Apparently Did Not Consider:

blameWho makes negative comments about others and takes action to punish anyone not in lock-step?  Who is it that then projects this attitude, words and behavior onto those who refuse/refused to willing step in the mess with the lock-steppers?

Today’s Logic Moment – 10/16/13

The Question People in DC Apparently Did Not Consider:

cancellation stampPeople are receiving cancellation notices from their insurance companies.  To have like coverage, with the AHC requirements, is being reported as either exceeding higher in premiums and deductibles or not offered by the preferred insurance company.  Like coverage via Obamacare, if one can find out, is apparently a cause for sticker shock.  People are in a desperate position.  Did this administration consider any of these possibilities before plowing through anyone who objected or had concern?  Do they intend to address this devastating mess they created?

Okay DC: What About the Other Americans Who Lost Their Private Sector Jobs?

busyIsn’t this quite delightful!  The government employees will be returning to their jobs after a short break.  They knew they would be.  It was a short-term  hurt.  What about all the other Americans in the private sector, who have lost their jobs, or their hours, and are facing an uncertain future?  They don’t know when they will be getting back to work (or hours returned), if ever they will.  Theirs is a long term nightmare.  Why are they forgotten?  Why are they deemed the non-important?

Obamacare did, and continues to, cost jobs.  If DC can’t see it, then perhaps they need a refresher course in reality.  After all, only they and their oblivious cult followers, are blind to the true plight of the American people all at the hands of Washington, DC politics and politicians.  Thanks for nothing.

I do hope politicians are feeling proud of themselves for their lack of concern and compassion for the families that are suffering as a result of idiotic politics and selfish legacy fights.  That will mean a great deal to them in the hereafter, when they are shown up for the self-centered and selfish individuals that they are.  Oh yes, they will be remembered for the pain and suffering that they needlessly caused.  There will be no mercy given to their memories.  What a true legacy that will be.

So, now that we know Obamacare was slopped together and has done nothing but cost people their jobs, their insurance, their financial well-being, and so on — what are you going to do about it, DC?  How are you going to fix this mess?  Will it be within the next two weeks or so?  (Isn’t that about the time it took you to get the government employees back to work?)  Well, you better get on it then, because the American people aren’t too happy with you and your crazy, selfish plans.  It’s time to do what you are supposed to.  It’s time for you to represent the people — not dictate to them.  It’s time to get the private sector Americans back to work and their good insurance returned!  Get busy!

Obama: If my word’s not good enough…

No, your word is not good enough.

Ask the foreign countries what they think of your “word”
or the “word” presented in your behalf.

You dare ask us to trust you & take your word, after all the lies that have come out of your administration?

Oh, how deliciously ironic…

negotiate4Obama tells congressional leaders he won’t negotiate on shutdown, debt“???… oh, how deliciously ironic.  If Obama won’t negotiate on any of those things — or anything — what is he willing to negotiate on?

Things have gotten out of hand.  (Actually, they got out of hand long ago.)  There was no reason that the Democrats and the President of the United States of America could then (or now) truthfully feel their plan for health care reform was so perfect — so very perfect — so very, very perfect — because they are “all-knowing” — that a little devil’s-advocacy and balance wasn’t in order, rather than a defiant blow-off of everything and anything not-their-way.

No reason, but it happened.

Now we have tons of people losing their jobs, or at least their full-time hours, and definitely their certainty of what tomorrow brings.  No longer does the need of the worker matter — the only things that matter are the whims of Obamacare and the dear Democrats & Pals that claim to so care for the people’s well-being.

And, rather than try to explain what they were thinking and why they thought (and continue to think) they were right and meant/mean well — they start in with the name-calling (calm rhetoric) and low blows towards any who do not agree with them, not to mention those special terms …

In recent weeks, however, Obama and his aides and Democratic allies have accused the Republican legislators of being anarchists, suicide-bombers, hostage-takers, arsonists, political terrorists, fanatics, blackmailers, and ideological crusaders.

“What we’re not for is negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chest,” Dan Pfeiffer, Obama’s top media adviser, said in a CNN interview this week.  ~Obama: I use ‘calm’ rhetoric, unlike ‘hostage takers’  (The Daily Caller — 7:16 PM 10/02/2013)

The irony of the Obama Administration — their willingness to call names (calm rhetoric), refuse to budge and then dare to project their words and behavior on others.  So, are we to be impressed and feel more secure in Obamacare and this administration now that we know they are pretty darn good at retaliating, hitting below the belt and name-calling (calm rhetoric)?  Sure makes me want to rush out and buy me an Obamacare plan — how about you?

Oh, that ticks me off…

madI just love it when people send P.R. (propaganda) mail and call me names or otherwise insult me in their little pep talk aimed at getting money from me , no less.  I guess I’m supposed to be one of their Zombie followers or too stupid to get that I’ve been insulted or that insulting me will make me feel I must be wrong and must rush over and become a Zombie, too.  Who knows.  Who cares?  Whatever they are thinking — they are WRONG!

It reads:  “We are the largest grassroots movement organizing every day to knock down those roadblocks, one by one.”

They call people in Congress — who are actually representing their constituents — roadblocks?

They are going to knock them down one by one?  Really?  And just what’s the plan?  How are they going to do that?  Will they pull a Harry Reid on the roadblock Congress people?  You know… throw some “misinformation” out there about the person, in an attempt to challenge his or her credibility?

It goes on…”We have an aggressive plan for the months ahead — that’s because building the kind of organization that can stand up to the powerful interests and the obstruction -focused members of Congress takes a lot of grassroots power.”

Takes a lot of arrogance, too.

The “powerful interests” in this situation happens to be you and me and anyone else that is a citizen.  People have spoken and some Congress members are actually doing what they are supposed to be doing — LISTENING & ACTING ON THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.  Then we have this grassroots group that is going to aggressively knock down any of these Congress members who have dared represent their districts… who have dared represent US and our wishes?

Am I to be impressed or something?

Oh… oh… and then they put… “Since we launched ___, we haven’t slowed down.  You’re the reason for that…”

Beg pardon?

I’m what?

I think they have mistaken me for someone else.  I deserve no credit for their existence or anything they have done or attempted to do, nor do I want any.  As a matter of fact, I consider their efforts to be insulting to the American citizens and representative of nothing more than “Bully Power”!

Government isn’t supposed to be a playground with everyone going around, “Let’s pretend this is true…” or “Let’s pretend these are the facts…” or “Let’s pretend I’m the good guy and you are the bad guy…”  This is REAL LIFE and REAL LIVE PEOPLE are being affected by decisions being made.  Needless to say — the games need to stop!  The games need to stop and people need to take a REAL look at what is taking place right in their face!

The “roadblocks” are Congressmen & Women, who are listening and responding to those they are representing.  How dare anyone suggest to remove them one by one.  That sounds like a threat!

Oh, that ticks me off…

Embarrassed Yet: The People Want to Know

eagle blueWell, Congress, many things have been left up to you as representatives of “We the People”.  Sadly, many of you did it your way in spite of all the outcries and questions that loomed right in front of you.  The people weren’t smart enough.  The people weren’t aware of all the facts.  The people were over-reacting.  The politics and political careers out-weighed any of the bad stuff the people might be enduring.  And that is only a portion of it all and many of you know it.

It is to the many of you that I address this…

You are in Washington, DC and you didn’t know (or believe) the IRS was targeting the Tea Party or Christian groups?

You didn’t know about the New Black Panthers intimidating voters and that it was ignored?

You didn’t have a clue about Fast & Furious?

You didn’t know that video line was a hoax, when an excuse was thrown out there for the Benghazi attack and the failure to act?

You didn’t know about the spying on journalists?

You didn’t know about problems with NSA, until Snowden announced it to the world?

You didn’t know that Holder was held in contempt?

You didn’t know the president wrongly inserted himself into the Professor Gates & Trayvon Martin cases, stirring racial tension?

You didn’t know that no one was allowed to disagree with the president or his administration least they be called racist?

You didn’t know that Sandy Hook — a tragedy — was utilized for political gain and an attempt to gun grab?

You didn’t know that people were bragging about having voted more than once?

You didn’t know that Henry Reid campaigned against Romney with an untruth when he claimed the candidate hadn’t paid taxes?

Where were you that you didn’t know these and other things that happened on your watch?

The world has been watching.

The world has been paying attention.

The world has been wondering at your lack of integrity and backbone.

Are you embarrassed yet?

You should be!

Wrestling the Bull: Nothing to See Here & Nothing to Worry About

Wrestling the bullOh bull, Big Brothers & Sisters, Aunts & Uncles & even watching Cousins, too!  Nothing to see and nothing to worry about?  Yeah right.  I’m sure you would never fib to us, the American citizens.  Naw!… you’d never do that.  You’d also never target the Tea Party, Conservatives, Christian and Jewish organizations either.  Ooops, I guess the sheep is out of the bag on that one with the IRS.  Gives us a great deal of reason to trust you — NOT!

I can just hear it.

Yes, we lied to you the other 50,000 times, but we aren’t lying to you now.  This time, we are telling the truth.  And that is supposed to give confidence — why?

I think the politicians and other government people have been drinking some funny water.  Their rationalizing ability seems a bit dizzy and doesn’t stand up too well in the real world of common sense.

Nothing to see here and nothing to worry about?  Some would beg to differ!  Obviously, no matter how many times the propaganda spins, it’s becoming quite plain that there’s plenty that needs to be seen and a great deal to worry about!

Time for Truth & Facts: ABC Allegedly Edits Michelle Obama

true falseInteresting news is that Michelle Obama’s comments were allegedly edited by ABC.

According to Charlie Spiering, Commentary Staff Writer for The Washington Examiner :

In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts aired this morning, First Lady Michelle Obama recalled the tragic death of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton who was shot and killed in Chicago after performing during the President’s Inauguration celebration in Washington D.C.

“She was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need,” the First Lady explained. “I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. I want them to know that we put them first.”

Chicago police reported, however, that Pendleton was shot by a man who “opened fire with a handgun before fleeing in a waiting car” according to the Associated Press.

Once again, misinformation is given about the type of gun and who was responsible.  It apparently wasn’t an automatic weapon and it wasn’t a kid.  It was a hand gun and it was a man according to the reports Spiering was relying upon.  So, what part of the truth is so difficult to comprehend and take into consideration?  Or, is it that the Obamas and other gun control supporters are merely taking advantage of the crisis at hand and doing a little altering here and there to fit their preferred argument for more restrictions?

The politicians, their wives, the activists and lobbyists should all be held accountable for the misinformation they are trying to spread to gain support for what they personally want, rather than what is necessarily for the good of the people.

It’s time that the “misinformation” be addressed, rather than merely ignoring or editing out inconvenient statements as first done by NBC & now ABC.  It’s time truth and facts get air-time and Running Man like behavior stay in the movies where it belongs.  This is, after all, “real life”, not some action movie meant to entertain for a couple of hours.  On the other hand, the Running Man plot sure seems eerily familiar.

The Truth or Not From Senator Reid

Senator Reid had to get on television today, December 27, 2012, claiming we are headed for the fiscal cliff drop-off and, of course, it is all Rep. Boehner’s fault, when it isn’t simply all the Republicans’ fault. It couldn’t be a bit of liberal or Democrat fault in there, too, for they are the all enlightened and all-knowing, it would seem. And, this is not to mention that it is fine for the president to go on vacation in Hawaii and the Democrats to go home for Christmas, but how dare the Republicans do likewise. Them thar Republicans is bad folks fer doing what them Democrats done did, too. We all know how that works. The goose gets by with everything and the gander gets blamed for it in the world of politics and political posturing.

Reid told us that Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for years and demanded that he prove he did. He even used the Senate floor to do this campaign gesture to make Romney look like a tax evader. However, Romney did pay taxes and ole Reid got by with making false allegations. But now we are to believe him. We are to believe that what Reid is saying today is true, even if what he said during the campaign wasn’t. It must be true — it came out of his mouth — right? Wrong, because the deceitful and false comments came out of there as well.

The truth or not from Senator Reid — how can we ever know?

The Dangers of Trusting Claire McCaskill

Todd Akin made a statement relying upon outdated scientific material.  He said that pregnancy from a rape was rare because of what a woman’s body does during the trauma of a “legitimate rape.”  People pounced on the allegation that women rarely get pregnant from a rape and the term of “legitimate.”

Perhaps Candidate Akin should have verified his information, but at least he didn’t pull that belief out of nowhere and put it out there to simply support his position.  He was going on an actual scientific study that had once been put out there as verified fact.  He had every reason to believe his information was accurate.  When he found out differently — he admitted so.

As for the term “legitimate rape”… people knew what he meant, or should have.  He wasn’t trying to downplay the horrors of rape or insult victims.   He said that pregnancy resulting from rape was rare, not that it never happened.  Therefore, it shouldn’t have been considered another case of the victimizing the victim.  At worse, it was merely poorly chosen words in this nit-pick society we have become.

Akin may have relied upon outdated material, but it was once the current medical findings.  He may have used the wrong adjective and set the world on fire.  However, it was Claire McCaskill that has shown her true colors over this matter.

On August 21st and updated September 4, 2012, KCTV5 reported:

> U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill said Tuesday that her GOP opponent should be given the benefit of the doubt about his unfortunate choice of words.

The Kansas City news channel quoted McCaskill as saying:

> “Congressman Akin and I disagree on some things, but he is sincere,” McCaskill said. “And while I disagree with what he said, he has now, just in the last few hours, really apologized for what he said.”

Claire McCaskill was being fair and calling for others to be as well, right?

On September 26, 2012, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, published “Todd Akin moves forward as Claire McCaskill deepens attack with ‘legitimate rape’ ad”, which says in part:

> McCaskill, meanwhile, wasted no time in opening up on Akin over his controversial comments last month on rape and pregnancy, now that she can do so without fear of driving him off the ballot and getting a new opponent.

> “Todd Akin said only some rapes are legitimate,” an announcer says in a McCaskill ad, marking her campaign’s first real foray into an issue that has rocked the national political landscape. “What will he say next?”

Claire McCaskill said her opponent really apologized and should be given the benefit of the doubt.  Well, apparently she meant “only” until she was sure he wasn’t going to bow out of the race.  Now, she seems to want us to doubt him and the misstatement has become something for her to attack him for.

Akin may have said it poorly, but at least he said what he believed to be true.  McCaskill?  Well, it looks like what she says is not always what she believes, but hey, this is politics, isn’t it?  Fight dirty and hope the people are too dumbed-down to see what is going on right in front of them.

Oh, and next time Claire tells you something, you might want to wait a few days and find out what she is saying then.  After all, the Akin situation does show the dangers of trusting Claire McCaskill, the honorable appearing candidate today, but the real politician tomorrow — not so much so.
