Martha’s Vineyard residents lament lack of resources, even as island is flush with cash and beds

Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. – Playground of the powerful Martha’s Vineyard lacked the resources to care for the 50 migrants who landed there unexpectedly on Wednesday, local residents told Fox News Digital this weekend.

But real estate data and Massachusetts state resources show otherwise: island towns are flush with cash and plenty of extra beds to help needy people.

Edgartown, for example, boasts $9.8 million in free cash — budget surplus — according to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. It would have cost only $9.1 million to give all 50 migrants their own room for an entire year at Edgartown’s swanky $500-per-night Harbor View Hotel.  (Click to continue reading)

Open Letter to Speaker Pelosi

Dear Speaker Pelosi:

It was my intent to write a respectful letter, but before I could get the first sentence typed – I found I had writer’s block.  That’s true.  I couldn’t think of a polite intro.  I definitely couldn’t think of some charming praise to start the wall… I mean ball… rolling.  All I could think of is what I think of you and that’s not a pretty thought to be shared in mixed company.  It really isn’t.

I don’t know what is wrong with you, but I know what you are doing is wrong.  You’re playing politics with the lives of the American people.  You’re playing games to gain power… to keep power… to build power… and to heck with the rest of us.  Problem for you is – we are on to you and have been for some time now.

Contrary to what you have said, since Donald J. Trump became president…

A wall is necessary.  You and your pals said so.  I guess you forgot or think we forgot or hope that we will forget where you stood on the matter pre-Trump.   We haven’t though.  Videos are a wondrous thing, don’t you think? Keeps situations fresh in the memory in spite of all the gaslighting and indoctrination coming from your side of all things.

Not to be rude, Nancy, but I don’t like you.  I don’t like people like you.  I never will.  Nor will many others.

Know what the problem is, Nancy?

It’s quite obvious that whatever the president is for – you are against.  Yes, it is obvious.  We see that there is no merit in your objections.  Instead, it is just plain ole spite.  It’s plain old Nancy being a control freak and trying to deny Trump anything he wants simply because he wants it.

Not a pretty sight, Nancy.

If you haven’t figured it out yet – we’re tired of you and your ways.  We’re tired of your friends.  We’re tired of your servants.  We’re simply tired of this entire mess you have made.

I’m not sure who you think you are, but self-absorbed individuals, such as yourself, don’t reign forever.  There is always someone sneaking up from behind with the intent of pushing the power hogger out and grabbing the power for self.  Might want to look behind you and around you.  Yes, dear Nancy, they are waiting for the right moment to pounce and remove the queen from the throne she so readily covets.

Do they wait for another one of your public ramblings that make no sense?

Do they whisper behind your back to others and question why you so often forget who the president is?

Have you considered the others?  The ones who may resent you for putting them in a bad position over the wall issue, among other things, simply in defiance of Trump and not because it is the right thing to do?  What happens when they start losing necessary support all because of you and your wrongful decisions?  Yes, what happens then?

This isn’t the Obama years of submission.  People are no longer afraid to speak up.  Hope has returned as we watch Trump accomplish so much in spite of all your wickedness and attempt to stop him at every turn.  We know so much more could be accomplished to make America even better and safer than before, if people like you actually cared about our country and our citizens.  If you cared, you would be working with our president – not trying to destroy him for your greedy, selfish reasons.  If you cared, you, too, could become a hero that helped stop the downward spiral to the pit of destruction.  If only you cared.  If only you weren’t so selfish and blind.  If only…

Foolish as it is – or maybe it is just because of the late hour – I can actually envision you supporting President Trump and the successes that could be.  Yes, I can see Congress returning to sanity and the rule of law.  I can see people working together as was meant to be.  And I can see a calmness and confidence touching the lives of the citizens, too.  Oh, it could be a wondrous thing to behold.  It could actually be.  It could be, if you stopped with your hate of Trump.

Well, it’s all up to you, Nancy, and I don’t count on you.  It’s simply one of those things that I know could be, but I don’t expect to be.  Of course, if you surprise me – I’d be quite delighted.  In the meantime, I just want you to know, Nancy, that I don’t like you as you are.  How about you give me a reason to change my mind?  How about you start by giving Trump, and us, the funding for the wall?

No Justice! No Peace!: It’s Time to Make It So

“No Justice!  No Peace!”?  Sounds like a  plan to me.  After all, actual justice (via the rule of law) would be deporting all the illegal aliens.  Peace would be in not having to hear the insults, attempts at intimidation and rude chants demanding what is not your right to demand.

I’m a compassionate person as are most people.  However, demand I bow to your will simply because that’s what you want and your wants trump mine (in your mind) – I’ll be doing anything but bowing.   And that is where we are today.  You demanding and me refusing to bow along with a great many other people.

Just who do you think you are to make demands and threaten to create havoc if those demands are not met?

I didn’t bring you to the United States and neither did anyone I know.  If you have a problem with the results of being brought here illegally – take it up with those responsible for having made that choice for you.  Be mad at them for putting you in the awkward position in the first place, if you are going to be mad at anyone at all.  Don’t be mad at me for what I had nothing to do with.  That’s justice.

I might have been more interested in your plight, if it weren’t for the attacks suggesting anyone not 100% on your side is a racist.

I might have been more interested in your plight, if people tried to win me over, rather than immediately go into attack mode and attempt to shame, mock and intimidate me.  How dare I not group-think with all the group-thinkers.  Darn!

I can’t know why you are being so aggressive, rather than diplomatic in your approach, but you have lost a great many people by your choice of attitude.  Count me right on that opinion.  I know I am.

The United States owes you nothing simply because you are here.  A fact you need to come to terms with.

People can believe all immigration should be “legal immigration” without being the slightest bit racist.

You don’t like being labeled “illegal”?  Well, many don’t like being falsely accused of being racist either.

Your behavior – you that I am addressing – is liken to slugging someone and then expecting them to be your friend and oh so grateful.  How dare they not wish to welcome you into their home?  How dare they not rush to every hilltop and claim you to deserve all things you wish for simply because you do?

The irony… the big irony… is all that you missed in the rescinding of DACA, as you reacted emotionally, rather than with thought.

President Trump actually did you a favor.

Obama’s Executive Order was unconstitutional.  It’s coverage – your deportation – was always pending and placing you all at the mercy of a court order that could come at any moment.  There was no safety or security to behold.  How could you have missed that little fact?  Shouldn’t that have upset you just a little bit?

Trump rescinded an unconstitutional Executive Order and bumped it over to Congress.  You know, that body of elected officials that draft, propose & pass legislation?  He did you a favor.  If you hadn’t let emotions get the best of you – you might have realized that.

Take note of all those people in Congress that think Trump is simply awful for having rescinded the Executive Order and then ask them what they are going to do about it.  Ask them what legislation they are going to submit (or vote for) to address this problem that has been plaguing all of us.  Yes, all of us.  You aren’t the only ones affected by all that has transpired.

I know it is easy to think you got the short end of the stick, but it isn’t just you.  Lot’s of people have been badly affected by this whole mess.  It’s time that reality be faced.  It’s time that activist, or simple rear-ends that love to stir trouble, stop with all these false accusations and attempts to destroy and demean any that don’t jump on the band wagon of their choice and yours.

It’s time to think with logic, rather than respond with emotion.

Trump did you a favor!

Perhaps it is time for you to figure that out and start acting with respect, rather than tantrum protesting with all the screaming of demands and hurling of insults.  Yes, perhaps it time you stop and think how you got in this position, who didn’t fix it when they could and how insecure your position has been all along.  Then think who has taken steps to bring about a permanent fix.  That would be Trump – the President of the United States!  The man you wrongly curse.

Time to Move On, Mr. President

President Obama at his anti-gun press conference (Official White House Photo)

It’s time to move on and out of the political realm you have over-seen for the past eight years, Mr. President. Two terms to a customer and you’ve had yours. You have. You really have. And, no matter how difficult it is for you to let go of your power – it’s up on January 20th. You do realize that, don’t you?

I know. I know it is difficult for you not to be in the lime light. And… what about your followers? What will they do without seeing you? What will they do without your voice to guide them in all ways? It will be a shock. There will be withdrawals. But then… all things must come to an end… even the reign of a president so self-admired as you. Yes, Mr. President, your term is at its end. You must move on.

Okay, I’m sure you will worry about us. What will we do without your superior intelligence and willingness to make all our decisions for us. Don’t worry. We’ll figure it out. You just go on, ’cause – it is time for you to move on.

I get it! You envy the senators and representatives who get to remain after you move on. You want to be the hero leading the charge. However, their terms aren’t up – yours is. It’s your turn to move on, if I haven’t mentioned it before.

Don’t worry – I’ll think about you from time to time, especially when I hear the names Gates, Martin, Brown, Ferguson, Baltimore, Sharpton, BLM, Holder, Lynch, Clinton, ObamaCare, ACA, Iran, Lerner, Jarrett, Weiner and so on. Yes, you’ll be right there on my mind, as I am sure you will be on the minds of others. Your true legacy will be intact. It will be saved for you and only you. Honest.

Now…

Take a deep breath. On your mark. Get ready. Get set. Time to move on, Mr. President. Bye!

Montel: How Dare We Make a Deal With Iran While Americans Are Still Held?!

Greta Van Susteren slammed the mainstream media for its lack of reporting on the U.S. Marine veteran who has been held in Iran’s worst prison for more than three years.

Montel Williams went “On The Record” earlier this week to ask the public to help raise awareness for Amir Hekmati, the jailed veteran (below, right).
Amir Hekmati

On Thursday, Williams returned to the show to discuss the case again, in light of the announcement by the Obama administration of a framework agreement on Iran’s nuclear program

Hekmati, an Iranian-American, was born in Arizona but held dual citizenship when he flew to Iran to visit his ailing grandmother.

Hekmati was arrested and charged with spying for the United States. He was sentenced to death, but that sentence was reversed and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison on a lesser charge.

Williams said a few days ago that Hekmati is in a dire situation, being whipped and forced to take drugs so that he could be tortured with the withdrawal symptoms.

On Thursday, Secretary of State John Kerry said conversations are continuing on the release of American prisoners. Others known to be held include American pastor Saeed Abedini and former FBI agent Bob Levinson.

Williams said he has “no idea” what Kerry meant with that statement.

President Obama declared Thursday that the proposed agreement satisfies the United States’ “core objectives.”

Williams pushed back, asking Greta how Obama could say that while these Americans remain imprisoned.

“Would not getting an American soldier back from the grips of a terrorist country that is torturing him be one of our objectives? So I don’t understand what that meant,” said Williams.

He added that the State Department may think he’s “pompous” for speaking out about this and demanding to know more.

But he said he only wants the administration to provide more information to the public.

“Don’t call me. Tell the American public what you’re doing. Since you and I started talking about this, there have been 18 million impressions of people in America looking at the story. That means America wants to know: how dare we make a deal and even contemplate signing one in a month, without bringing our citizens home? I don’t get it,” he said. (Click to continue reading)

Nonsense Card: Over-the-limit & Declined

Nonsense card 1

I started reading an article at a site that I normally avoid. My reason for avoiding it is that I feel it has over-the-top in leanings and often claiming absolutes that I know to be false. I find that irritating — not amusing. Nevertheless, I started reading and sure enough, by the sixth paragraph — and they weren’t large paragraphs — he says he suspects there are a lot of people who do not like Obama for no other reason than his skin color. The nonsense card in play again. Give me a break!

Obama is in his “second” term of office. If his skin color was such a major issue, he wouldn’t have been elected the first time, much less a second. What part of this does the “skin color” fetish cult not get?

On the other hand, this nonsense card that people have been using for political and personal gain, has been way over-used and is now over-the-limit and being declined. It’s nonsense. People can actually disagree with Obama and his inept team and it not have a single morsel of anything to do with anybody’s skin color. I’m serious. It’s true. It’s reality. Get a grip on it.

People trying to play the nonsense card, need to step back and take a long look at their motives. Are they standing with Obama & Pals because they believe he is right or because they feel they are some new breed of people championing the “skin color” war they perceive in their delusional world? If it is the latter, perhaps it’s time to look around at all the shades of color in high places. This isn’t the 1800’s or 1960’s. We’ve come a long ways from those days — a very long ways!

Is the world cleansed of all discrimination? No, and it never will be. Somewhere… sometime… someone will be discriminated against for some reason. However, discrimination is not wide-spread as has been suggested in the past six years, and especially since Ferguson, MO. Not everything that happens good or bad has to do with race. It can happen for all kinds of reasons. It can happen because of poverty. It can happen because of age. It can happen because of disability. It can happen because of lack of knowledge and/or skills. And… get this… not everything (not to our liking) that happens has anything to do with discrimination of any sort. It can happen for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes a person can be wrong. Sometimes it can happen because of attitude. That’s right. It can happen to a person because the person’s attitude stinks.

People have a right to disagree with Obama & Pals, just like anyone has ever had a right to disagree with any president before. It happens. It happens because it happens. Playing this nonsense card to try to make a disagreement of policy or actions or words into a race issue instead, is an attempt to distract from the possibility the accused is right and Obama might just be wrong. (Sorry to burst a bubble, but Obama can be wrong, too!)

It’s time to get honest. It’s time to deal with real issues and not ones created for political and personal gain. It’s time to stop immediately seeing every disagreement with Obama as a matter of “skin color” and thereby ignoring the possibility there is good cause for disagreement. It’s time the nonsense card be declined and cancelled. Yes, it is definitely time.

Racism… Racism… Racism

wolfOnce upon a time, as the tale goes, there was a boy that cried wolf when there really wasn’t one.  Then one day, he cried wolf because there really was a wolf, but no one paid any attention because of all the times he had duped them.  (Now replace “wolf” with “racism” or “discrimination”.)

The moral of the story is simple.  Keep throwing the false allegations out there and one day, when the allegation is true, people aren’t going to believe it because it was never true all the other times.  And that is where we are at today.

How dare anyone disagree with Obama.  To do so was and is alleged to be racism.  Except it wasn’t and isn’t racism to simply disagree with another person.

For people such as Oprah Winfrey to say Obama is a victim of racism is a slap in the face to all who have been the victims of racism, sexism and whatever other form of discrimination that has been unjustly played upon them.  The simple truth is… if there was racism in this country to the degree that Oprah and other Obama followers try to say there is — Oprah would never have been deemed the Queen of Talk Shows and Obama would never have been elected in the first place.  Can’t have it both ways.

On the other hand, since Oprah and these racism allegers dwell on the thought of racism as a motive to all things, might it be that they are the ones that are the actual racists?

I’m sorry if Oprah was ever discriminated against, but I have news for her — so was I.  So were a great many people for various reasons and in various situations.  Though sometimes it is… and though I have been burnt big time…  I don’t look at every negative situation in my life as being the result of the fact that I’m a woman or that I’m a Catholic or that I chose a career in a male dominated field or that I’m not as rich as some think I should be.  Sometimes things happen that haven’t a single thing to do with me personally.  And… sometimes… just sometimes… people actually think I’m wrong and feel they have a right to say so.

People need to grow up and let go of the past and start living in the present!

Yes, there was a time that slavery existed in the US.  It was also a time when women and children were considered property of the husband/father.  Let’s not forget that little bit of history, when we think of all the wrongs done unto a group… any group… of people.  And how about the Native Americans?  They’re part of the history of peoples wronged.  Oh… oh… and we can’t forget the Irish Catholics that were so hated either.  Then there are the Jews that supposedly lied about the Holocaust and were taking over the world via the banks.

The list goes on and on.

Numerous groups of people have found themselves discriminated against at one time or another somewhere or another, but somehow “exceedingly rich” Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama take top billing on the victims’ list?  I don’t think so.

Again… if racism truly existed now days as Oprah and the Obama team try to suggest — she would never have been Queen of Talk Shows & he would never have been elected president — especially over Hillary Clinton.

It’s time to get rid of the false allegations of racism and start dealing in honesty, in reality and in the present where sometimes — disagreement is simply a difference of opinion because people have different opinions — period!

 * * *

If you like your opinion – you can keep it.  Period.

Obamacare Realities: Pulling things out of the horse’s rump

horse rumpI don’t just pull things out of a horse’s rump and throw it out as truth. I actually read and search and verify, unlike some of the seemingly brainwashed and vicious Obama defenders of today’s society.

Obama said, “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

That came out of Obama’s mouth. His own mouth. His own words. His own promise. I didn’t pull it out of a horse’s rump, but he must have.

Thousands upon thousands of people are getting cancellation notices. Yet, in the mist of all this, Obama Zombies (the fainting following) are swearing that if people have insurance — they won’t have to change. But they are having to change. It’s happening. It’s real. It’s all around. And it isn’t done yet.

Of course, once it is shown by a source other than Fox News that cancellations are in the high numbers, the argument becomes that the policies were lacking in quality coverage. Excuse me, it should be up to the insurance seeker and insured to decide what coverage best meets his or her particular needs and budget. People don’t need the government playing Nanny, especially when it isn’t Nanny that must cough up any and all additional costs associated with these uninvited decisions.

It doesn’t matter. Obama said repeatedly: “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

What happened to that guarantee? Would people have voted for AHC if they had known what Obama said wasn’t true?

Then we have the website issues and Amanda Marcotte saying she wants a screen shot proof or people are lying:

Yes, “she” makes an accusation and then demands others prove her wrong, rather than “her” proving her statement true. It’s not supposed to work that way, but in this flipped universe we are living in, it’s happening way too often.

Amanda says:

Well, Amanda, here’s a screen shot for you:

How Stupid Are We: Pretty Darn Stupid According to Big Government Supporters

stupidIt’s amazing how stupid “big government supporters” think everyone else is.  We are too stupid to make our own decisions about the size of soda we buy, so the government will help us.  They will deny us the 32 oz. option.  Now, that is really going to help all on its own.  Oh, never mind.  That ban is only the beginning.  With the government in control of insurance, they’ll soon be able to tell us what we can’t eat and what we must eat.  Probably tell us how many times a day to go to the bathroom, too.  And, never fear, we will probably receive instructions on the proper way to wipe the bottoms we have somehow been taking care of for years without their help.

Drink water?  What a unique idea.  I’m sure that most of us never once thought about grabbing a glass of water when thirsty.  And how about those water fountains? They aren’t just for decoration?  Well, what do you know about that.  Learn something new every day.

I have a control freak relative that will walk into the kitchen, see someone is doing the dishes and tell that person she (or he) needs to do the dishes.  It is as though the event is not real… not happening… unless “control freak” gives the order for it to be done.  Does my relative sound like anyone you know?  You know… like someone who thinks they know more about our health, health needs and coverage than we — the people who happen to be living our lives — do?

My “control freak” relative got involved where there was no need and really messed things up.  After the blunder, “control freak” walked away and left everyone else to suffer the major consequences involved.  Looks like our government is planning a likewise move.  They screw everything up for us — like cost us perfectly good insurance coverage — then, as it all falls apart, they go, “ooops” and walk away with their coverage still intact.

Many of the elite in government haven’t the slightest clue what it is like to be in our less-elite shoes, so their edg-i-ka-sion is limited to that book larning that was written by others who probably didn’t have the slightest clue either.  So, who are they to suddenly walk into our lives and tell us what to do and when to do it and how to do it, as though we hadn’t been living a life prior to their decision to decide for us?

We may not know everything about everything, but we do certainly know what we need to survive.  We know what is “affordable” in our situations, no matter what amount they decide upon.  Better yet, they talk about all these people that didn’t have insurance because of pre-existing conditions and life-time limits.  So, why didn’t they deal with those problems?  Why didn’t they find a way to get those people covered?

I’m trying not to laugh or cry.  Rather than deal with the “specific” issue at hand, the “control freaks” in government decided that they needed to tell everyone they have to have insurance — including the ones who already had insurance and didn’t need to be told to get it.  (But it wasn’t really REAL until “control freaks” told them they had to.)  And to top it all off… as the government took over to make sure everyone was covered… they caused people who already had coverage to lose it and become uncovered.   Yep!… that’s some progress and a success story to be proud of — NOT!

The government mingled where it had no business mingling and now people, who had made the good decisions for themselves and family, are in one heck of a mess.  Many have lost hours and jobs.  Many have or will be losing coverage.  Many are facing exceedingly high premiums, co-pay and deductibles.  But the government knows best, or so it thinks.

How stupid do they think we are?  Pretty darn stupid.  And just remember this conversation when they tell you that you HAVE TO eat your veggies, how to wipe and how to have sex with your spouse.  Yeah, I know you didn’t know how to do that properly either.  But… never fear… they’ll get you up to speed as soon as they get the glitches fixed in the O-care site.  In the meantime, don’t hold your bladder or your breath.

My Personal Thoughts: Obama elected because of Oprah

oprah-reaction-to-president-elect-obamaMy personal opinion is that Obama wouldn’t have had a chance of being elected president, if it had not been for the support of Oprah Winfrey.  Nothing to do with his racism — I mean race — but rather, because hardly anyone knew who he was, while hardly anyone hasn’t heard of Oprah.  She brought him into the lime light and gave him name recognition.  Likewise the trust in her was then transferred to being trust in him.  “We can trust Oprah, so we can trust Obama.”

Many people who voted for Obama have buyer’s remorse.  People feel betrayed.  For as bad as any might feel, can you imagine how Oprah feels?  She knew this man and his wife.  She put her reputation on the line for them.  How did that work out for her?  Not so well, it seems.

The stories I have read, suggest that once Obama was elected — he and Michelle pretty much snubbed Oprah.   I guess she was no longer worthy of their friendship.  Well, until it was time to push the unpopular Obamacare that is.  Suddenly, it appears that when Obama needed help pushing his so-called “Affordable” Health Care, Oprah was called upon to assist.  Guess she wasn’t good enough to be their friend in good times, but she definitely appears to be good enough when they need to use her.  Nevertheless… word is … Oprah said, “No!”

Does this now mean that Oprah is a racist, too?

Definitely, I don’t believe Obama had a chance of beating Hillary, much less go on to become president.  Oprah helped make it happen.  Guess she found out what is behind all that rhetoric and it wasn’t a pleasant surprise!

I’m still wondering.  You think Oprah saying, “No!” to the Obama makes her a racist like everyone else that doesn’t agree with him or do his bidding?  Well, I guess it doesn’t matter.  What matters is that she helped elect him president and her reward was a big snub!  It tells us a great deal about the man and his wife in the White House!

Obama: If my word’s not good enough…

No, your word is not good enough.

Ask the foreign countries what they think of your “word”
or the “word” presented in your behalf.

You dare ask us to trust you & take your word, after all the lies that have come out of your administration?

Victims of Government Shutdown vs Victims of Obamacare

Businessman Thinking on StepsThere are numerous stories about the employees being affected by the government shutdown and we are only two days into their financial nightmare.  Understand that I’m not wishing for, or happy about, anyone losing their income, but wait a minute… the shutdown is only temporary — Obamacare financial losses are long term, if not permanent.  Why aren’t those Obamacare affected employees/former employees as important as the government ones?

Listening to everyone carry on about how unfair this all is, the thought “entitlement” keeps coming to mind.  It’s as though the government employees are entitled to their jobs, though no one else is entitled to theirs.  It’s as though everyone else is considered expendable and simply collateral damage.

I get it.

The news media is headed towards government run organizations.

Government employees are protected, while private sector is destroyed.

Then we come to the government being in complete control of every aspect of our lives and deaths.

Orwellian fiction is fast becoming our 21st Century reality.  And so few seem to notice what is happening around them or realize how they themselves are being led to what to believe and not believe.  As for now, it is a tragedy that the government employees have lost two days of pay, while a shoulder shrug that so many private sector workers have lost their jobs or the hours they were counting on.  Where is the outrage for their long term lack of pay?  Where is the fight to get the job killers talking and fighting to get the private sector workers back on the job?  Oh, that’s right… the job killers are the ones fighting to keep Obamacare intact regardless of what devastation and destruction it causes.

Government workers = entitled to job and pay.

Private sector workers = expendable and entitled to nothing.

This should be all it takes to open the eyes of the willing-blind.  Do you now see by the actual “Victims of Government Shutdown vs Victims of Obamacare” where we have come to be and where we are headed?  We should all be more than a bit concerned.  Is Obamacare, as is, really worth it?
